Peter Nilon was born and bred into farming and has maintained a lifelong career in the industry.
Raised on the Southern tablelands of NSW, he attended a country boarding school and after completing his schooling spent the next six years in far North West Queensland and the Northern Territory working on remote cattle stations.
After periods as head stockman with King Ranch in both Queensland and The Northern Territory, he attended Marcus Oldham College.
Following completion of his tertiary studies, Peter then managed a number of farming properties in Western Victoria.
In the early 1990’s, Peter commenced managing a portfolio of properties initially based in the South East of South Australia.
For the next 25 years he worked for a number of corporate entities managing multiple properties across Queensland, NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.
The majority of Peter’s work involved establishing properties from scratch and taking them through to steady state operations.
Peter has a long history of livestock trading and still operates as a buyer of domestic and export livestock Australia wide.
Additionally he also provides contract management services for businesses who need a short term manager for any reason, often these businesses are recruiting for a vacancy or the principals may be taking an extended break or overseas tour.
As owner and principal of “All About Your Farm”, the majority of Peter’s time is spent assisting people to find, purchase and establish their rural property.
The majority of clients have small or medium sized properties, in addition to life style farmers looking to commence their presence in rural Australia.
Peter remains very active with Marcus Oldham College and has a passionate commitment to the education and development of the next generation of agricultural leaders.
Marcus Oldham College recognised Peter’s efforts in the industry with their 2014 Graduate of Excellence award.
Peter and his wife Robyn have two adult children and live on their own farming “slice of heaven” south of Ballarat.
