Below is a list of useful farming web links.

  •  The Bureau of Meteorology is a well-known weather site. The climate section contains useful maps that look both forward and back for rainfall and temperature. There are also comprehensive localised weather data sets.
  • CliMate is a very useful scenario planner. For your locality, you can view historical frequency of given rainfall and temperature outcomes.
  • Landcare has over many years assisted farmers with practical tips to improve their operating environment.
  • Farm Safe is useful place to start with Farm Health and safety. In the “For Farmers” tab there is good information across a number topics and a handy section about child safety on farm.
  • Evergraze has good information on pastures in temperate Australia. It can be a bit technical but the information is very comprehensive.
  • All states have good web sites associated with their respective Agriculture Departments. This is the Victorian (DEPI) example – It covers a very broad range of topics often with fact sheets and publications.  This site also has information on bees, poultry, pigs, horses, alpacas, welfare, pests, diseases, weeds and chemicals in addition to the more traditional pursuits.
